Private consultation

Preparing for a session

If you have never been to the clinic before their are some things you can do to help the session run smoothly.

  • Complete the intake form via our link, this will be sent to the mobile number you provided when booking. A text will only be sent once you have confirmed your appointment the day before.

  • Be sure to wear comfortable clothing.

  • Don’t eat immediately prior to the appointment as this may create discomfort when lying on your stomach for a massage.

  • While water is provided in the clinic it is recommended to bring your own water to keep hydrated.

  • Wear comfortable underwear. During a bodywork session you will be asked to disrobe down to your underwear and provided a towel for modesty. Modest draping will occur during the entire session however I use the underwear line as the guide for my draping practices, this should be kept in mind when choosing your the appropriate underwear ie g-string or boxers can make things uncomfortable.

During a session

While it is helpful and preferred to have a goal for the session it is not a necessity. During the consultation I will ask questions and love to hear about your story. This is not a must, you always have control over how much of your life we discuss. I will have hands on contact with your body at some point in the consultation, again I will always discussed why and how I will touch you. Receiving informed consent prior to this part of the appointment.

This is your time getting to know your body. With this in mind you can ask for specific treatments. Request for more time spent on a specific issues, especially when we are addressing multiple connecting disfunctions. The more questions you ask the better you know you body. If you don’t understand something I say or it doesn’t resonate with you please let me know.

Also let me know at any point during the session if you feel emotionally or physically uncomfortable and I will seek to understand why.

Group Sessions

Preparing for a session

Some preparation advice for our group session.

  • Wear comfortable clothing.

  • Bring a water bottle

  • Bring any supports you wish to have with you to make yourself more comfortable.

  • During registration you will be asked if you have any additional dietary or mobility needs. If you indicate this I will contact you prior to discuss it further.

During a session

I provide yoga mats, cushions, blankets & eye pillows. Afternoon tea is also provided. Feel free to bring additional supports.

You are free to engage as much or as little as you feel comfortable. For all new attendees the outline of a session will be given. Full support is shown and group agreements are confirmed. Respect in language and behaviour is of great importance. Please let me know if you feel any agreements and or boundaries have been crossed.

A reminder that when you sit in stillness of any kind your body temperature will drop. Be mindful to support this with the clothing you wear.
